Agriculture, which occupies nearly two thirds of the national territory, has a major economic, societal and environmental responsibility. Because the night is conducive to debate, everywhere in Benin, “The night of agro-ecology” is an opportunity for farmers to explain the meaning of their commitment and for citizens to come to meet those who are doing daily agro-ecology, discovering their practices and debating them.
In this context, the Action Center for Food Security and Sustainable Development (CASAD) organized a Citizens ‘Debate on agriculture with the Multi-stakeholder Platform for Promoting Farmers’ Innovations in Benin. The central theme of the exchanges is: Which modes of production do we want to encourage as citizens?
CASAD had the technical support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of France.
